Students will become familiar with the work of great artists of the past such as Picasso, Van Gogh, and Warhol. Each day students will learn about new a artist by exploring the strategies and mediums used to create his/her artwork. Following this, students will be provided the chance to emulate the art form of the highlighted artist. Students will be encouraged to try different types of painting, drawing, and sculpture. Over the course of two weeks, students will learn about a variety of art styles (such as impressionism, pointillism, cubism, and modern pop art) and create unique artwork meant to echo the great artists of the past.
